How sustainable were we in 2024? Read our new sustainability report

At Smart Packaging Solutions – part of the VPK Group – we have all our sights trained on sustainability. As a group, in 2024, we made tremendous progress with energy efficiency, circularity and responsible sourcing of raw materials. Curious about how we did this? In the latest VPK Group sustainability report you can read about how we continued in the reduction of our CO₂ footprint and gave the use of renewable energy a considerable boost: 37% of our total energy use came from renewable sources in 2024 – that’s almost 50% more than in 2020. Circularity also remained a spearhead: our packaging is already made from 90% recycled paper.

• Our packaging is made completely from recycled paper and FSC® certified material
• No less than 1.5 million tons of recycled paper and board were used to manufacture new packaging
• 98% of the raw materials used are renewable
• 37% of the energy used came from renewable sources.
• Thanks to the efficient use of water, the consumption across the plants dropped by 15%.

As part of the VPK Group, sustainability is extremely important to Smart Packaging Solutions. We use mostly recycled paper and board to manufacture our solid board packaging. After use, this packaging can be recycled again. This is how they become renewable raw materials once again.
